This week's theme for the 52 Frames competition is "Abandoned" and I think this photo of an old barn fits the theme perfectly.

This barn is just a few miles from my house. I discovered it while I was out scouting locations for some milky way photography.
Here is a shot I got that night.

I was fortunate that the property owner happened to drive by as I was photographing the barn from the side of the road and we talked a while. She told me they put the wreath up on the barn a few years back for a photoshoot and just never took it down. I showed her the photos on my camera and she gave me her number so I can come back and go onto the property for photos in the future if I want to. It's important to always be respectful of others' property and to be friendly when they want to talk!
I was very happy to see several cows around the barn when I first drove up, but they got up and wandered off before I could get parked and grab my camera. One of them still managed to make her way into the photo - and as she stood under the arch of the trees I clicked the shutter button and got the shot I wanted.
This photo can be seen on 52Frames and is available as a print, a digital image, or even a Duvet Cover!
